Daily Dino Fact: Tyrannosaurus rex VS. Triceratops
Q: Did Triceratops ever battle the Tyrannosaurus rex’s? -Caden
A: That’s a very interesting question, Caden! The truth is, nobody really knows for certain (as with most dino-related things). However, it was entirely possible. Both dinosaurs lived in the Cretaceous period of the Mesozoic era, and both were common. It is more than likely that Triceratops crossed the path of a T-Rex on more than one occasion. Being a meaty meal, Triceratops likely was preyed upon by the T-Rex as well.
The problem is that a Triceratops would not be an easy meal for a T-Rex. They were pack animals and always had plenty of backup. With their stout bodies and long, sharp horns, T-Rex would have a hard time taking down one of these bad boys. So yes, they more than likely did battle each other, but it’s also just as likely that the Triceratops would come out victorious. The T-Rex probably would have hunted a Hadrosaur or a Sauropod before it tried to take down the Triceratops.
Thanks for your question Caden! If anyone else has a dinosaur question for me please put it in the comments and I will try to answer it next time. Until then, see you in Webosaurs!

I’ve seen T Rex’s battle Triceratops in movies and books and it seemed that it was very Likely, and very Unlikely at the same time.
Thank you so much for posting my comment!

I really think the Triceratops could win from its horns and because they go in packs. I definitely think the triceratops would win in a battle with the tyrannosaurus rex. By the way, I made a new blog. It’s for Webosaurs Cheats. Check it out. http://www.webosaurscheating.wordpress.com.

Hi All,
Hey have you ever thought that a T Rex may have had a toxic bite very much like a Komodo Dragon?
The saliva of the Komodo has toxic saliva that when it bites its intended victim, infects it.
The Komodo backs of and waits for its victim to die from the poisonous bite which takes several days to take effect, this way the Komodo does not get injured in a fight.
The teeth of the Komodo are serated and so are the teeth of T-Rex.
This is what also makes the saliva of the Komodo toxic as the meat sits on the serations and festers .
Maybe T-Rex hunted in a similar way as to what the Komodo Dragon Hunts so maybe the confrontation that you all expected between TRex and Triceratops could have been a lot diferent.
Maybe T- Rex ambushed Triceratops from behind took one bite and backed off?
So all the proffesionals who say that T- Rex was a scavenger are wrong,T-Rex was a hunter, maybe that is why he had his small arms these were not needed as T-Rex didnt need tograsp his prey he only needed to bite it once??
