Dance Party with Stretch – Friday

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

Awwww yeah, it’s time to party. Lately we’ve seen a lot of Horns and Rexxy, and I know you’ve been asking to see our boys Stretch and Pterry. So I was talking to Stretch and he was all like “Yo broceratops, I’m like, totally down with that.”

Word, so of course he wants to host a dance party, even if he just sprained his foot (sounds like an excuse if you ask me). This might be your chance to take him down on the dancefloor! We’ll be pumping up the number of coins being given out on Dance Party just for this party.

Meet Stretch at the Tonto Plateau at 16:00 WST on Friday in the Jurassic server to get down on this rockin’ event.

Game of the Week – Matterhorn’s Big Air

Monday, August 30th, 2010

Take your Webosaurs on a crazy snowboarding game by busting out fat backflips, 360s and whatever else you can bust out on the mountain. The title is no joke, you’ll catch some big air on this game in Webo Ridge. Find it to the right of the Lizard Lounge in Webo Ridge – you can also blast off from the Arcade Room!

As with all Games of the Week, it will be giving out a ton of coins so don’t forget to give it a shot. Catch some Big Air, SnowDinos!

Pterry’s True Science – Double Asteroid All the Way!

Sunday, August 29th, 2010

EUREKASAURUS! It’s time again for another edition of Pterry’s True Science!

As we learned a few months back, the debate over the cause of the extinction of the dinosaurs has finally come to a close. A group of 41 paleontologists and scientists concluded that a giant asteroid slamming into the Earth is now the universally accepted explanation.

However, new evidence has come to light that suggests that two asteroid crashes may have been responsible for the extinction. The Chicxulub Crater in the Gulf of Mexico was the site of the originally discovered asteroid crash. A second site, the newly discovered Boltysh Crater in Ukraine, may prove that multiple asteroids crashes led to the extinction of the dinosaurs. Yikes!

The impacts at the Chicxulub Crater and Boltysh Crater took place thousands of years apart from one another, but still close enough together to raise some questions. Some scientists speculate that an entire shower of asteroids may have struck Earth around 65 million years ago. If that’s the case, expect to hear about more impact sites in the future!

Such a fascinating discovery, but now it’s time for me to get back to my research!

“Hey there Miniclip dinos! I personally want to welcome you all to Webosaurs, one of the best online communities you will find. I’ve played Webosaurs for a year, and I will tell you this: I’m still loving it! From the get-go, Webosaurs stood out for me for one huge reason; the community is one of the best I’ve ever participated in. With moderators always looking out for you, and developers, artists, and other important staff always looking for your feedback, its one of the best communities I’ve ever been honored to be a part of. “

-Remixz

It’s not like other virtual worlds where the staff just walk around and see if everything is good, the staff have fun with all the players of Webosaurs!”

-Monster_man

“I’m sure you’ll make a lot of friends very quickly. “In this world, you can meet A LOT of exciting people from ALL OVER THE WORLD. For example Sludge, who is an American dude who likes to help people with a different language by using GOOGLE TRANSLATOR. Plus, you might get lost out there too…, but no worries, we got a ton of Nice Dinos! You can ask Modosaurs, Protectosaurs, Blogosaurs, and of course, dinos who are near your area!”

-Rikodou

“Webosaurs makes me feel like I have more friends in my life. It’s a fun place to hang out in and I think everyone there has a wonderfull time! I like to play all the games and spend coins on stuff to by for my cave.”
-Spyro008

“ on Webosaurs, I have talked, smiled, laughed, argued, fought, and yes, even nearly cried. When I stepped into this new world, which would later become like a family to myself, the first thought that popped into my mind was: “Just a boring virtual world”, but I was mistaken big-time – As I explored this new land, the feeling of playing it was different than playing any other game. I don’t know what it was, and I still don’t know up to this very day, after playing the game for over a year, making videos, and also blogging about it, but the fact is that it drew me in and has kept me stuck to it ever since”
-Chipmunk

“What really attracted me about Webosaurs was the community. There is always a group of friendly, welcoming, and funny dinosaurs who will be eager to help you out. No matter what, I know that when I log into Webosaurs, I will find someone with whom I can strike up a chat, rock a minigame, or just plain hang out.”
-Zitio

“Webosaurs means a lot to me both in real life and on the internet. A lot of milestones were made because of Webosaurs, for example I made my first blog because of Webosaurs, I got a passion for virtual worlds because of Webosaurs, and I met lots of awesome people on Webosaurs, The Mods are always there to lend a helping hand, You can always cheer youself up by laughing ar Rex’s Justin Beiber obsession and you ca well have fun and have a good time! so all you new Dinos dont just look at Webosaurs as a game look at it as a community a family no one gets left out.”
-Chillsaurus

Thank you dinos for your kind words and I hope that everyone from Miniclip finds this post well. We are so happy to have you as part of the Island. Webosaurs rules!!!!!!!

Banana War with Horns – Saturday

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

SpongeHorns by Juiceking

Juiceking dropped this by my desk today, said he drew it at the request of the dinos. Haha, what do you think?

Speaking of Horns, he’s coming by the Island on Saturday to challenge everyone to a BANANA WAR. Horns thinks he’s a pretty tough guy, and says that you don’t stand a chance against him. Are you going to just let that go? I didn’t think so. Especially when he’s wearing a tutu like that.

Still, you might be a Horns and want to hold it down for your kind. And trust me, Horns is going to need all the help he can get. So whether you support Horns or are against him, the war will be going down this Saturday at the Carnivorous Cavern (although who knows where it might end up from there).

When: Saturday, August 28th at 12:00 WST

Where: Carnivorous Cavern, Jurassic Server

Why: BECAUSE PEEPS IS CARAZY

I don’t have much information on them just yet… but I can confirm that the titles are “Animal Hospital” and “Meerkats.” Rexxy will be hosting this party to watch the new Webosodes and take a tour around the Island to watch all of them in case the new dinos have missed out! Rumor is he might be giving out some coin codes too :O

Deets:

Rexxy will give everyone a chance to show up and then he’ll start the tour around the Island to the Webosodes. Are you stoked or what?

Welcome Message to New Dinos – Chance to play as Spike

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

Many of you who are reading this are long time players on Webosaurs Island. You’ve been here for months and have grown in your life with us, as we have grown too. This last week marks a new time on Webosaurs, as we have launched on Miniclip.com and are now seeing a stream of brand new dinos. We know that at its heart, Webosaurs will never change because at our core we have a great group of dinos who are friendly, welcoming and a whole lot of fun to be around. We hope you are as excited as we are to bring all these new peeps to join what we have been enjoying for so long.

To welcome our new friends to the Island, we are going to hold a contest of sorts. Remixz actually wrote me suggesting this, and I think it is a great idea. Here is the plan:

  • Write a 2-6 sentence paragraph welcoming the new Miniclip dinos to the Island and tell what Webosaurs Island means to you.
  • Post it as a comment on this blog post
  • On Friday we will pick 10 of these comments to go up on the blog to welcome the new dinos. The 10 dinos who are picked will also get to play as Spike for the following 7 days.

How does that sound? Let the new dinos know what the Island has meant to you, and why you love it so much. We can’t wait to hear your responses.

Note: We really want to hear what YOUR experience with Webosaurs has been. Don’t focus on what you can do in Webosaurs, but tell the new dinos what the Island means to YOU. The friends you’ve made, the experiences you’ve had… be personal!

Game of the Week: Dino Dig in the Gushing Geyser

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

We’ve been so lucky to have so many awesome new dinos on the Island, and we thought we’d make this week’s Game of the Week an easy one for the new players! Dino Dig is conveniently located on the right side of the Gushing Geyser, making it a natural choice.

In Dino Dig, you use your paleontologist’s tools to scour through layers of dirt and rock to uncover brilliant fossilized dinosaurs and other creatures from the Mesozoic era. You’re in a race to beat the clock so there isn’t much time to dilly dally! As with other Game of the Weeks, Dino Dig in the Gushing Geyser will be giving out lots of coins all week long!
