Frankendino! Don't get Zapped!

A very friendly reminder that Weboween IS. ALMOST. HERE. Even Frankendino is excited and that’s saying something! There are three MAJOR events going down this weekend. Tomorrow is the triumphant return of Comedy Night – Weboween Edition – and there have already been some awesome jokes submitted on the Forum. Like this one submitted by Devonmed:

Mwahahaha hilarious, better get your jokes ready! Then on Saturday things are only going to get crazier when we celebrate the birthdays of Stretch and Rexxy. There’s been a lot of talk about this birthday party so you know it’s going to be an amazing celebration. We’re going to be hanging out in the Soggy Bottom Swamp at noon WST and Walnut just came out of the kitchen with this amazing creation!

Double the Fun!

That’s right, everyone who comes to Stretch and Rexxy’s party will receive this towering, meat-stuffed (I wonder how Stretch feels about that) cake for their cave!

SUNDAY is going to be the best day of all. We’re going to be hanging out in the Carnivorous Cavern with Chrisdog and some other super-secret surprise guests, can you guess who? Also, there is another special surprise for Webosaurs Members who attend, so don’t miss it. If you’re not a member and want to learn more about member features, click here.

This weekend is going to be rocking, so don’t miss out! I can’t wait to see the surprise guests, have a blast with my favorite dinos and share some great Weboween memories. Cave Party!!!

We all know that Weboween is going to be seriously crazy fun. There is going to be comedy, an epic birthday party, special guests, surprise items and much, much more. From the kick-off to the very end Weboween is truly going to be amazing this year and the finale is going to be the best part. This Sunday at 12 noon WST in the Carnivorous Cavern Weboween is going to explode!

Chrisdog - Rockstar!

Special guest Chrisdog will be there shaking things up as only Chrisdog can, there may be a visit from our favorite dinosaur Rex and there is going to be a very special surprise guest who’s identity is still a surprise. Just in time for Webooween... Freaky looking ants!

Seven hundred insects, all 50 million years old, were recently found on the Gulf of Cambay, off the western coast of India. Among the ancient bugs were ants, bees, spiders and termites, they had all been encased in an amber deposit from a broadleaf tree and perfectly preserved… kinda like in that famous dinosaur movie from the 1990s, I don’t remember what it’s called…

Anyway, the coolest thing about this discovery is that it changes what scientists have long thought about when India first connected to Asia. It has long been assumed that India broke away from Africa about 150 million years ago and then didn’t “crash” into Asia until about 50 million years ago. After dating the amber, scientists were expecting to find that the insects were nothing like others from around the world because India was supposed to have been isolated for about 100 million years. Much to their surprise the scientists discovered that the ancient bugs had similar characteristics to bugs from Europe, other parts of Asia and as far away as Australia.

To sum up, these seven hundred bugs provide a snapshot of what life was like in India 50 million years ago and reopens the question of where on earth India was at that time. It could have smashed into Asia much earlier than we believed or there could have been an island chain connecting the land masses, but the mystery remains, where was India?? What do you think?

You’ve all asked for it and now it’s coming! Day Two of Weboween will be totally bluggin’ with a great birthday party for two of our most beloved dinosaurs, none other than Stretch and Rexxy! You may know that Rexxy’s birthday was last Thursday and Stretch spent his on Sunday at the beach with his family, but the fact remains that neither of them has had a proper birthday party!

Because their special days are so close to one another, Rexxy and Stretch have decided to join forces for one killer Webosaurs Birthday Bash! Stay tuned for details on a cake as our Webosaurs pastry chef, aka Walnut, is trying to whip something up big and special enough for TWO of our favorite Webosaurs dinosaurs. I hope to see you all there celebrating Weboween, Stretch and Rexxy all at the same time!

Not only is it the return of Comedy Night, but this party also wins the award for longest party title EVER! Seriously though, this is going to be GREAT. We’re going to change up the format a little bit and make this more like a Comedy Week. The idea is to allow everyone a chance to submit a joke, even if they can’t make the party. So if you can’t make the party, be sure to submit a joke here.

Other than that Comedy Night will run the same as always. Everyone will be allowed on the stage one at a time to present their jokes and a Moderator or myself will recite the jokes of the dinos that can’t make it. We’ve had some requests to allow non-presenting dinos on the stage, so we will be less strict with our policy, but please be respectful of those who are presenting. Come on out on Friday for a hilarious bluggin’ Comedy Night!

Hey gang, I’m pleased to announce that the Webosaurs Blog is going to be holding a very special Blog Entry Contest! The concept is simple, submit a “blog entry” that you want to be judged and the winner will get to write another blog entry to be featured on the Webosaurs Blog. Essentially the winner will become a one-time author on the Webosaurs Blog, with a final edit by Mio of course. If you’d like to enter, submit your poetry, short story, essay or blog entry as either a comment on this blog entry or on the Forum here. As always, the normal rules of Webosaurs apply: no personal information, no inappropriate content and the submissions must be about Webosaurs! All submissions must be in no later than Thursday, November 4th. Finalists will be judged by their peers on the Webosaurs Forum and the winner will be announced the following week. So put some pens to paper and get cranking on your submissions, I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Talk about a face-lift for Protectosaur Meetings Posts! Now we can announce our meetings in true style. Special thanks to Walnut and the other Webosaurs artists for hooking us up with this killer new video. Luckily our Protectosaur meetings will be the same as always.

If you aren’t familiar, we encourage our Protectosaurs to meet up as a group once a week to discuss issues on the island and other items of interest. However, the meetings aren’t closed off to only Pros – they are more like Town Hall style meetings for everyone to discuss island business. Everyone has an equal stake in Webosaurs and we would love to hear what is on your mind. Topics that are on the agenda for this week:

Let's BOOOGIE!

wOOt WooT! Let’s get on down! We’ve been having some rocking parties recently on Webosaurs and they’re only going to keep coming. To celebrate we’re breaking out a classic for the Game of the Week, DANCE PARTY! Let’s get ready for an awesome Weboween Party by getting our dance moves nice and polished so we can all be grooving on the dance floor during Weboween.

Dance Party is located at Tonto Plateau and you can play by yourself or with a partner. It’s an all-time favorite on Webosaurs so if you’ve never played you’re bound to love it. As always it will be cranking out more coins than usual this week, so not only will you have a great time, but you’ll head home with some serious coins!

Happy birthday day dear Stretch, Happy birthday dear Stretch, you look like a veggie and you smell like one too! That’s right today Stretch celebrated his birthday, he was catching waves and surfing all day and I’m sure he had a couple veggie pizzas somewhere in between. We also had a great Rexxy Roast today with some awesome jokes told and some coin codes handed out. I know Rexxy had a blast, but it wasn’t a proper birthday party and because he and Stretch have birthdays so close to one another, we’re definitely going to throw a joint party for our favorite dinos sometime after Weboween. Keep on rocking dinos and let’s have a great week!
