If you aren’t familiar, we encourage our Protectosaurs to meet up as a group once a week to discuss issues on the island and other items of interest. However, the meetings aren’t closed off to only Pros – they are more like Town Hall style meetings for everyone to discuss island business. Everyone has an equal stake in Webosaurs and we would love to hear what is on your mind. Topics that are on the agenda for this week:

Hey gang, Game of the Week time! I got a couple of requests this week for Matterhorn’s Big Air. This awesome game is located in the always snowy Webo Ridge, it’s almost spring-time which means that the snow is going to be melting soon and grabbing big air on a snowboard off of a majorly awesome jump is going to be almost impossible. Luckily you can always come to Webosaurs and grab big air whenever you want, but you won’t always be able to take home a shopping cart’s worth of coins for doing it.

That’s right, for this week and this week only, Matterhorn’s Big Air will be giving out major coinage like never before. So get on over to Webo Ridge, grab a board and get to shredding. See you on the Island!

Great Work Irvine!

Hey gang, it’s just about time for a fresh Webosaurs Fan Art Contest, don’t you think? Irvine sent in this awesome piece of Fan Art and I think it’s due time we have another art contest. The idea for this contest is simple, take your time, but put together any piece of artwork that you think best represents Webosaurs or what you like most about Webosaurs. It could be one of the mini-games, it could be the new costumes, Fossil Magic, Pterry, Horns, even Spike! Anything you want as long as it represents Webosaurs to the fullest. Since we’re technically still in the middle of our Rexxy Awards Submission process (finish up this weekend by the way!), I’m going to give everyone two full weeks to create this Fan Art. That means that all submissions are due no later than March 11th. Once I’ve collected all of the submissions I am going to have Walnut and Mischief (Webosaurs’ resident artists) select their favorite and then turn it into a Fan Art Contest Cave Banner. Then your banner will be featured in other dinos caves when they win future Fan Art Contests, it’s gonna be sweet! Post your submissions or any questions you have as a comment on this post. Rock on! Don't mess with "Thunder Thighs!"

Hey gang, a new dino has been discovered that fought off attackers with its powerful thighs just like a modern day rooster! It’s name is Brontomerus mcintoshi (Brontomerus literally meaning “thunder thighs” in greek) and it was a giant Sauropod at least 46 feet long. Thunder thighs had huge blades attached to its hipbones that it would have used to fend off attacks and protect their young by kicking and stomping potential predators like this poor guy here.

Thunder thighs was originally discovered in 1994 by Paleontologists in Utah, but it wasn’t until paleontologists started to take another look at the fossils in 2007 that it was determined that they could have a new species on their hands. When the Paleontologists were able to take a closer look they determined that this species had the largest leg muscles of any Sauropod ever found. Thunder thighs probably developed these powerful defense mechanisms because of the brutal terrain they existed in. Utah 110 million years ago, with Deinonychus and Utahraptor running around trying to eat thunder thighs’ babies, was a pretty tough place to make a living. You’ve heard the expression, “never stand behind a horse,” right? Well never, ever, EVER stand underneath a Brontomerus or you will literally get stomped on! What do you think about thunder thighs? Can you imagine a 46 foot long beast like this trying to stomp on you!?! I can’t. See you on the Island!

What is he up to??

Weekend Party PARTY PARTYYYY! That’s right gang it’s time to rock and we’ve got some awesome parties this weekend to help you all rock it all weekend long! Firstly, on Saturday I’ve gotten wind of some very secret information. One of Webosaurs’ finest spies (thanks Dukster) has discovered that Evil Proto will be on the Island this Saturday, trying to damage some things, but also trying to break Spike’s eel/monster out of it’s tube in Sub Alpine Forest. We simply cannot let this happen, in fact if we get enough dinos at this party we might have a chance to knock the evil right out of Proto. Proto will have a set of clues that when combined will reveal the secret word or phrase that will turn him away from evil forever! This will be a huge step for Team Webo, will you be there to break the code?

Sunday, we’re going to have a totally different type of party. We all know that the deadline for our Rexxy Award submissions is quickly approaching and that this is the final weekend to work on our videos. Luckily, we’re going to share thoughts and ideas with some of the most critically acclaimed filmmakers on the Island. Come to share your secrets, ask questions and get some help putting the finishing touches on your masterpieces from some of the best in the business. We’re going to hold court in the Lizard Lounge. This weekend is going to ROCK, I can’t wait! See you on the Island!

Help Mio Create Egg Hunt Questions!

Hey gang, by special request we are going to have a mid-week party this week! It’s going to be going down this Thursday from 17-18:00 pm WST in the Supersaurus Den located in the Forest Floor. We’ve never had a party like this before, but I think it’s going to be a lot of fun. We’ve all had a blast doing egg hunts in the past, but haven’t you always wished you could create some of the questions that dinos have to answer to complete the hunts? Well now you can! This Thursday we’re going to all come to the Supersaurus Den with our most challenging questions, then I’ll write them down, confirm the correct answers and turn them all into a hunt on Friday! The top 10 most challenging questions will be added to the hunt, don’t miss this chance to have your most difficult questions included in the hunt.

Time is running out!

Hey gang, just a friendly reminder that there is only one more week to finish up your epic motion pictures and submit them for voting. From what I’ve seen there are some major works of cinematographic artwork being produced by the Webosaurs crew, so finish up if you’re in the middle of a project and if you haven’t started, you’d better get to work, there’s still time left if you want to make a video!

Also, I want to let all of you proud dinos know that Webosaurs is again one of the finalists for the about.com 2011 Reader’s Choice Award for the Best Virtual World. Woookey as it gets!

Game of the Week time dinos. I’ve just cranked up the juice on everyone’s favorite lawn bowling game. It may be wookey, it may be wonky, it may be funky, but it’s still one of the most fun times a dino can have on the Island. Grab some friends, grab a mod, grab WHOEVER, just get over to Prairie Pool and throw some giant rocks at some giant pins made out of dino bones! What’s the point of having supernatural dino strength if you’re not going to use it right?

That’s not all! I love bowling so much that I’m going to be sneaking onto the Island a couple of time to play today and a couple times each day all week long. Who knows, we might even start a whole bowling league right here on the Island. Keep your eyes peeled for Mio and other mods looking to play Wookey Lanes and make some major coins this week!
