Webosaurs Blog

Many of you who are reading this are long time players on Webosaurs Island. You’ve been here for months and have grown in your life with us, as we have grown too. This last week marks a new time on Webosaurs, as we have launched on Miniclip.com and are now seeing a stream of brand new dinos. We know that at its heart, Webosaurs will never change because at our core we have a great group of dinos who are friendly, welcoming and a whole lot of fun to be around. We hope you are as excited as we are to bring all these new peeps to join what we have been enjoying for so long.

To welcome our new friends to the Island, we are going to hold a contest of sorts. Remixz actually wrote me suggesting this, and I think it is a great idea. Here is the plan:

• Write a 2-6 sentence paragraph welcoming the new Miniclip dinos to the Island and tell what Webosaurs Island means to you.

• Post it as a comment on this blog post

• On Friday we will pick 10 of these comments to go up on the blog to welcome the new dinos. The 10 dinos who are picked will also get to play as Spike for the following 7 days.

How does that sound? Let the new dinos know what the Island has meant to you, and why you love it so much. We can’t wait to hear your responses.

Note: We really want to hear what YOUR experience with Webosaurs has been. Don’t focus on what you can do in Webosaurs, but tell the new dinos what the Island means to YOU. The friends you’ve made, the experiences you’ve had… be personal!

We’ve been so lucky to have so many awesome new dinos on the Island, and we thought we’d make this week’s Game of the Week an easy one for the new players! Dino Dig is conveniently located on the right side of the Gushing Geyser, making it a natural choice.

In Dino Dig, you use your paleontologist’s tools to scour through layers of dirt and rock to uncover brilliant fossilized dinosaurs and other creatures from the Mesozoic era. You’re in a race to beat the clock so there isn’t much time to dilly dally! As with other Game of the Weeks, Dino Dig in the Gushing Geyser will be giving out lots of coins all week long!

You dinos must be excited about going back to school because we had some really great school themed caves. Your teachers would be proud!

Even though we had a lot of good submissions, a few A+ quality caves stood out. All of our winners have a bluggin’ banner heading their way as a prize. Make sure to stop by these caves to congratulate the winners and celebrate the coming school year!

Everyone must have been pretty rowdy for the Snowball Skirmish Tournament today and we had a tough time pulling out a winner! Remember that when we’re doing a tournament, it’s important to listen to the Modosaurs and have your teams ready so the Tournament can run smoothly, it’s the only way we can continue to do them! Still, with the help of ModosaurMoon and ModosaurTert, we managed to finish out the tournament and have a few winners. Congrats teams!

Last weekend Rex led a revolt against school, but now it’s time to come to terms with reality. It’s time to go back to school!!! Of course, just because summer is winding down doesn’t mean the good times have to end on Webosaurs Island.

As all the dinos prepare to head back to school, we’re challenging everyone to a Back to School themed cave contest! Create a cave that reminds you of going back to school or transform your cave into your very own classroom. We’re looking for unique and creative caves that stick to our school theme. Hey dinos! Today’s Daily Dino Fact comes from Doggy, who wrote this awesome post about the ferocious Megalodon! Take it from here, Doggy. -Silu

Q: What is a Megalodon?

A: Well, to start off the Megalodon was a prehistoric fish. Today, I like to think of a Shark like the Megalodon because all other fish feared them, much like dinos feared the Tyrannosaurus Rex or Allosaurus. The megalodon might have been the most largest and most powerful macro-predatory fish in vertebrete  history.

Most fossil remians of this fish shows that it was the biggest shark that has ever lived back then. So, if you are wondering the name “Megalodon” actually means “Big Tooth” in it’s greek origin. A megalodon could bite down so hard that when it bites it has a much weight over 42,000 pounds! Wow!

Get ready to laugh because it’s time for another bluggin’ Comedy Night! Have your best jokes ready and you could be one of our top three comedians and win an awesome Cheesy Trophy. There’s no special theme this time around, so be as creative as you want!

Meet at the Lizard Lounge in Webo Ridge this Friday at 16:00 WST in the Jurassic server. Remember that each dino gets one turn to tell a joke. Dinos will be called up by name to come on the stage and show off their comedy skillz. Please do not go on the stage unless it is your turn. Good luck!

Snowball Skirmish is the game of the week, so what better time to hold a Snowball Skirmish Tourney! The tournament will be run in team format so it’s important to get your team together as soon as possible! Our winning teams will receive a coveted Volcano Trophy for their caves.

Here’s how it’s going to work. We have a limited amount of space for the tournament. We will be taking a total of 8 teams with 3 members each. There will be three rounds in the tournament, and a team member can only compete in one round. So the two teams that reach the finals will be using all three members. It’s up to the team to decide who will compete in what round.

Once you have figured out your teams, each person needs to post a comment to this post with their team name. As soon as everyone in your team has posted a comment with the team name, you will be entered in the competition. We will take the first 8 teams to register. If someone falls through by gametime, you can use a substitute.

You will be meeting at the Lizard Lounge at Webo Ridge at 12:00 WST (Aug 21st, Triassic server). Please follow the instructions of the Modosaurs to make this tournament as quick and easy as possible! These are always hard to pull off so we appreciate everyone being patient and cooperative. Good luck, dinos!
